Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for brake replacement.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts with a socket set and take off the wheel.
3. Remove Brake Components
  • Locate the caliper. Use a socket wrench to remove the caliper bolts.
  • Carefully slide the caliper off the rotor and support it with a bungee cord or similar device to avoid straining the brake line.
  • Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.
  • If necessary, remove the caliper bracket by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads and Rotors
  • Measure the rotor thickness; replace if below manufacturer specifications.
  • If replacing rotors, remove the old rotor by unscrewing any retaining screws.
  • Install the new rotor and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Apply brake grease to the back of the new brake pads to reduce noise and install them in the caliper bracket.
5. Reassemble Brake Components
  • Reinstall the caliper over the new brake pads and torque the caliper bolts to the specified torque value.
  • Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
6. Lower Vehicle and Final Checks
  • Carefully lower the vehicle off the jack stands.
  • Torque the lug nuts to the specified value in a crisscross pattern.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
