Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: a clean lint-free cloth and a funnel (if adding fluid).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine idling.
2. Check Fluid Level
  • Step 1: Remove the transmission dipstick. With the engine running, pull the dipstick out of the tube.
  • Step 2: Wipe the dipstick clean with the lint-free cloth to remove any fluid.
  • Step 3: Reinsert the dipstick fully back into the tube.
  • Step 4: Remove the dipstick again and observe the fluid level. The fluid should be within the "Hot" range if the engine is at operating temperature. If it is below the "Add" mark, fluid needs to be added.
3. Add Fluid (if necessary)
  • Step 1: If the fluid level is low, insert a funnel into the dipstick tube.
  • Step 2: Add the recommended transmission fluid (Ford Mercon LV or equivalent) slowly, checking the level frequently to avoid overfilling.
  • Step 3: Once the desired level is reached, remove the funnel and securely reinsert the dipstick.
