Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location with the engine off.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, new CR2032 battery.
  • Using the flathead screwdriver, gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Remove the old battery, noting the orientation (positive side up).
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation.
  • Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  • Tools Required: None.
  • Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Turn the key back to "Off" and remove it.
  • Press the "Lock" button on the key fob. This should establish a connection with the vehicle.
  • Repeat this process for a total of 8 seconds, turning the key multiple times if necessary, until you hear a chime.
  • Test the key fob to ensure it now works properly.
4. Verify Receiver Functionality
  • Tools Required: None.
  • If a second key fob is available, test it to see if it successfully locks/unlocks the doors and starts the vehicle.
  • If the second key fob also fails, the issue may lie with the vehicle's key fob receiver.
