Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal to ensure safety while working on the vehicle.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before beginning work.
2. Remove the IAC Valve
  • Locate the IAC valve on the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the IAC valve.
  • Remove the mounting screws using a socket set (typically 8mm or 10mm).
  • Carefully pull the IAC valve out of the throttle body, avoiding damage to surrounding components.
3. Inspect and Clean
  • Inspect the IAC valve for wear or damage. If it appears faulty, proceed with replacement.
  • Clean the mounting surface on the throttle body using a suitable cleaner and a lint-free cloth.
  • If the IAC valve is reusable, clean it with a throttle body cleaner to remove carbon deposits.
4. Install New or Cleaned IAC Valve
  • Position the IAC valve back into the throttle body.
  • Secure it with the mounting screws and torque them to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 89-106 in-lbs).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the IAC valve.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle while monitoring for smooth operation and check for any error codes.
