Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Lift the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
2. Remove the Old Tie Rod Ends
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench, tie rod end puller
  • Use a tie rod end puller to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
  • Remove the nut securing the tie rod end to the steering arm using the socket and wrench.
  • Carefully pull the tie rod end out of the steering arm.
  • Repeat for the opposite side if necessary.
3. Install New Tie Rod Ends
  • Parts Required: New tie rod ends (ensure they are the correct part for your Ford F-150 model)
  • Apply anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new tie rod ends.
  • Insert the new tie rod end into the steering arm and secure it with the nut.
  • Torque the nut to the manufacturer’s specifications (consult service manual for exact torque value).
4. Alignment
  • After installation, lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Take the vehicle to a professional alignment shop to ensure the steering geometry is correct.
