my Ford F-150 12th Generation (2009-2014) has a check engine light and won't accelerate

1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
• Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.

2. Clean/Replace Throttle Body

• Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
• Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the throttle plate and bore.
• Inspect the throttle body gasket and replace it if damaged.
• Reconnect the air intake duct ensuring it is secure.

3. Inspect/Replace MAF Sensor

• Locate the MAF sensor in the air intake system.
• Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor.
• Clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner and allow it to dry.
• If damaged, replace with a new sensor and reconnect it.

4. Check Fuel System

• Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail test port.
• Turn the ignition to the "On" position (without starting) to check the fuel pressure.
• Compare the reading to manufacturer specifications (usually around 30-60 psi).

5. Inspect Vacuum Lines
