Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, spark plug socket, torque wrench, multimeter, compression tester, noid light, basic hand tools.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  1. Remove the engine cover if necessary to access the spark plug.
  2. Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug from cylinder 1.
  3. Inspect the old spark plug for signs of wear (e.g., carbon deposits, damage).
  4. Apply anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plug.
  5. Install the new spark plug and torque it to the manufacturer’s specification (typically around 13-15 lb-ft).
  6. Reattach any components removed during access.
3. Replace Ignition Coil
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil on cylinder 1.
  2. Remove the mounting bolt(s) securing the coil to the engine.
  3. Carefully pull the ignition coil out from the spark plug well.
  4. Install the new ignition coil and secure it with the mounting bolt(s).
  5. Reconnect the electrical connector to the ignition coil.
4. Inspect and Replace Fuel Injector (if necessary)
  1. If the injector is faulty, detach the fuel rail by removing the mounting bolts and disconnecting the fuel line (ensure proper fuel pressure release).
  2. Remove the old fuel injector from the rail.
  3. Install the new injector, ensuring O-rings are lubricated and properly seated.
  4. Reinstall the fuel rail and reconnect the fuel line.
