Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, brake fluid, jack and jack stands, brake bleeder kit, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect from brake fluid.
2. Inspect and Repair Brake Lines
  • Inspect all brake lines for corrosion, cracks, or punctures.
  • If leaks are found, replace the damaged brake line:
    • Sub-steps:
      1. Use a wrench to disconnect the damaged section of the brake line.
      2. Measure and cut a new brake line to the appropriate length.
      3. Install the new brake line and securely tighten all connections.
3. Replace Master Cylinder (if necessary)
  • If the master cylinder is faulty:
    • Sub-steps:
      1. Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
      2. Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder using a wrench.
      3. Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster.
      4. Install the new master cylinder and reconnect the brake lines.
      5. Refill the reservoir with new brake fluid.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • After replacing components, bleed the brake system to remove air:
    • Sub-steps:
      1. Use a brake bleeder kit and connect it to the brake bleeder valve on the farthest wheel from the master cylinder.
      2. Have an assistant press the brake pedal while you open the bleeder valve to release air.
      3. Close the valve before your assistant releases the pedal.
      4. Repeat this process until no air bubbles appear in the fluid.
      5. Repeat for each wheel in the correct order (farthest to nearest).
