Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, ratchet, torque wrench, multimeter, ignition coil puller (if needed), safety glasses.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off and cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Locate and remove any bolts or screws securing the engine cover (if present).
  • Gently lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Ignition Coil
  • Locate the ignition coils on the engine; typically found on top of the engine near the spark plugs.
  • Remove any components or covers obstructing access to the ignition coils, such as air intake ducts.
4. Disconnect Ignition Coil
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the tab and pulling it off the ignition coil.
  • Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket.
5. Remove and Replace Ignition Coil
  • Gently pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well. If it’s stuck, use an ignition coil puller if available.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Reinstall the securing bolt(s) to the specified torque (usually around 10-15 ft-lbs).
6. Reconnect Electrical Connector
  • Attach the electrical connector to the new ignition coil until it clicks into place.
7. Reassemble Engine Components
  • Reinstall any components or covers that were removed to access the ignition coils.
  • Replace the engine cover if applicable and secure it with bolts or screws.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is secured.
