Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery.
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench.
2. Replace Wheel Speed Sensor
  1. Raise the Vehicle
    • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  2. Remove Wheel
    • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the right front wheel.
  3. Disconnect the Sensor
    • Locate the right front wheel speed sensor and disconnect its electrical connector.
  4. Remove the Sensor
    • Remove the retaining bolt securing the sensor using the appropriate socket size.
    • Carefully pull the sensor out of its mounting location.
  5. Install New Sensor
    • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new sensor (if applicable).
    • Insert the new sensor into the mounting location and secure it with the retaining bolt (torque to manufacturer specifications).
  6. Reconnect the Wiring
    • Reconnect the electrical connector to the new wheel speed sensor.
  7. Reinstall Wheel
    • Put the wheel back on and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
    • Lower the vehicle and torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
3. Clear Error Codes
  • Reconnect the battery and use the OBD-II scanner to clear the C0045 code from the ECU.
