Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:

    • Socket set
    • Oil filter wrench
    • Oil drain pan
    • Funnel
    • Rags or paper towels
    • Torque wrench
  • Parts Required:

    • Engine oil (5W-20 or 5W-30, as specified in the owner's manual)
    • Oil filter (specific to your engine type)
  • Safety Warnings:

    • Ensure the engine is cool before starting the oil change.
    • Use gloves and safety glasses to protect your hands and eyes.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Ensure the vehicle is stable before working underneath.
3. Drain Old Oil
  1. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
  2. Using the socket wrench, remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan.
  3. Once drained, replace the drain plug and tighten it to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 20 lb-ft).
4. Replace Oil Filter
  1. Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Be prepared for residual oil to spill.
  2. Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber O-ring of the new oil filter.
  3. Install the new oil filter by hand, tightening it until snug (do not over-tighten).
5. Add New Oil
  1. Remove the oil fill cap on top of the engine.
  2. Using a funnel, pour the new engine oil into the oil fill hole.
  3. Check the oil level using the dipstick and add oil as necessary to reach the full mark.
6. Final Checks
  1. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes while checking for leaks under the vehicle.
  2. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes, then check the oil level again, adding more oil if necessary.
