Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
• Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical shorts when working on the HVAC system.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.

2. Inspect and Replace Blend Door Actuator

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, trim removal tool
• Remove the dashboard trim to access the HVAC controls.
• Locate the blend door actuator (usually near the heater core).
• Disconnect the electrical connector from the actuator.
• Remove the mounting screws and take out the old actuator.
• Install the new actuator in reverse order, ensuring proper alignment.
• Reconnect the electrical connector and replace the dashboard trim.

3. Check and Clean Heater Core

• Tools Required: Hose, coolant, bucket
• Drain the coolant from the radiator into a bucket.
• Disconnect the heater core hoses from the engine bay.
• Flush the heater core with a garden hose to remove any blockages.
• Reconnect the hoses and refill the coolant reservoir with the appropriate coolant mixture.
• Bleed the cooling system to remove air pockets.

4. Verify Climate Control Settings
