Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery (negative terminal) for safety.
2. Check and Top Off Oil
  • Remove the oil filler cap.
  • Using a funnel, add the correct type of oil as specified in the owner's manual, if low.
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set.
  • Using the oil filter wrench, remove the old oil filter.
  • Apply a thin layer of new oil on the rubber gasket of the new filter.
  • Install the new oil filter, tightening it by hand until snug, then an additional 3/4 turn.
4. Inspect and Replace Oil Pump (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, socket set, engine oil.
  • Drain the engine oil completely by removing the oil drain plug.
  • Remove the oil pan by loosening the bolts and carefully prying it off.
  • Disconnect the oil pump from the engine block.
  • Install the new oil pump, ensuring all gaskets are properly seated.
  • Reattach the oil pan and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
  • Refill the engine with new oil.
5. Reconnect Battery and Start Engine
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle while checking for leaks around the oil filter and oil pan.
