Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, brake cleaner, torque wrench, socket set.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use the jack to lift the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels using the lug wrench.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads
  • Inspect Brake Pads: Remove the brake caliper bolts and lift the caliper away from the rotor. Inspect for uneven wear patterns.
  • Replace Brake Pads:
    • Remove old brake pads and clean the caliper bracket.
    • Apply brake grease to the backing of new pads and install them in the caliper bracket.
    • Reinstall the caliper over the new pads and torque the caliper bolts to manufacturer specifications.
4. Check Brake Rotors
  • Remove the rotor by unscrewing the retaining screws (if applicable) and pulling it off the hub.
  • Inspect the rotor for warping or uneven surfaces; replace if necessary.
  • If the rotor is in good condition, clean it with brake cleaner and reassemble.
5. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and torque the lug nuts to the specified value.
  • Reconnect the battery.
