Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Raise the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
2. Remove the Old Steering Pump
  1. Locate the power steering pump (typically mounted on the front of the engine).
  2. Disconnect the power steering fluid lines using a wrench. Have a drain pan ready to catch any fluid.
  3. Remove any mounting bolts securing the pump to the engine block using sockets.
  4. Carefully take out the power steering pump from its mounting.
3. Install the New Steering Pump
  1. Place the new steering pump into the mounting location.
  2. Secure the pump with the mounting bolts and tighten them to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually around 18-25 ft-lbs).
  3. Reconnect the power steering fluid lines and ensure they are snug but not over-tightened.
  4. Fill the power steering reservoir with the recommended fluid type (usually Honda Power Steering Fluid).
4. Bleed the Power Steering System
  1. Start the engine and let it idle.
  2. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to help bleed air from the system.
  3. Check the fluid level again and add more if necessary.
  4. Inspect for leaks around the pump and lines.
