my Honda Accord temperature gauge is fluctuating, what's causing this

1. Preparation

• Gather all necessary tools and parts.
• Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
• Allow the engine to cool completely before proceeding.

2. Replace the Temperature Sensor

• Locate the temperature sensor on the engine block (usually near the thermostat).
• Disconnect the electrical connector from the temperature sensor.
• Use a wrench to remove the old temperature sensor.
• Apply thread sealant to the new sensor's threads.
• Install the new temperature sensor and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification (typically 15-20 lb-ft).
• Reconnect the electrical connector.

3. Replace the Thermostat (if necessary)

• Drain the coolant from the radiator into a clean container.
• Remove the radiator cap and lower hose to allow full drainage.
