Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a secure location.
  • Have the key fob battery replaced if not done already.
2. Entering Programming Mode
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all the doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Within five seconds, turn the key back to the "OFF" position.
  4. Repeat the ON-OFF cycle two more times (for a total of three times) ending in the "ON" position. You should see the locks cycle to indicate the vehicle is in programming mode.
3. Program the Key Fob
  1. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for one second.
  2. Release the "LOCK" button.
  3. Press the "LOCK" button again for one second and release it.
  4. Repeat this step for any additional key fobs you wish to program (up to two additional fobs).
  5. Turn the ignition to the "OFF" position to exit programming mode. The locks should cycle again to confirm that programming was successful.
4. Testing the Key Fob
  1. Exit the vehicle and close the door.
  2. Test the key fob buttons (lock/unlock) from a distance to ensure proper functioning.
