Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels to access the shocks.
3. Remove the Old Shocks
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, ratchet.
  • Locate the upper and lower mounting bolts of the shock absorber.
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the upper mounting bolt. Support the shock while removing.
  • Remove the lower mounting bolt and take out the shock absorber.
  • Repeat for the other side if necessary.
4. Install New Shocks
  • Parts Required: New shock absorbers (ensure they are compatible with the 2023 Honda Accord).
  • Position the new shock absorber in place, aligning it with the mounting points.
  • Insert the lower mounting bolt and tighten to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 30-50 ft-lbs).
  • Insert the upper mounting bolt and tighten similarly.
  • Repeat for the other side.
5. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
  • Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack.
6. Final Inspection
  • Check the shock mounts and bolts to ensure everything is secure.
  • Inspect for any signs of leaks from the new shocks.
