Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is turned off.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel for better access to the strut assembly.
3. Remove the Strut Assembly
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spring compressor (if replacing struts).
  • Loosen and remove the bolts securing the strut to the steering knuckle.
  • Remove the top strut mounting nuts located under the hood (may require removal of the engine cover).
  • Carefully detach the strut assembly from the vehicle.
4. Inspect the Strut
  • Check the strut for leaks, dents, or any signs of wear.
  • If using a spring compressor, carefully compress the coil spring and remove it from the strut if necessary.
5. Replace or Reassemble
  • If struts are worn, replace them with new struts. Ensure the new struts are compatible with the 11th Generation Honda Civic.
  • Reassemble the strut back onto the vehicle in reverse order of removal.
  • Ensure all bolts are torqued to the manufacturer’s specifications.
6. Reinstall the Wheel and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and tighten the lug nuts to the proper specifications.
  • Carefully lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands.
