Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, and a replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety while working with the key fob.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob

    • Use the flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing along the seam.
    • Be cautious to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
  2. Remove Old Battery

    • Note the orientation of the battery before removal.
    • Gently lift the old battery out using the screwdriver.
  3. Install New Battery

    • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one, ensuring it is seated properly.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob

    • Align the two halves of the key fob casing and press them together until they click securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode

    • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
    • Turn the key to "Off" and remove it. Repeat this process twice more, ending in the "On" position.
  2. Program the Key Fob

    • Press and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the key fob simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
    • Release the buttons and press "Lock" once more to complete programming.
4. Test the Key Fob
  • Step outside the vehicle and test the key fob by pressing the buttons to ensure it unlocks and locks the doors.
