Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather all necessary tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secured with wheel chocks.
• Wear safety goggles and gloves.

2. Check Brake Fluid Level

• Open the hood and locate the brake master cylinder.
• Inspect the fluid level; if low, top it off with the manufacturer-recommended brake fluid (usually DOT 3 or DOT 4).
• Check for leaks; if found, proceed to repair or replace the affected components.

3. Bleed the Brake System

• Locate the brake bleeder valves on each brake caliper.
• Start with the brake furthest from the master cylinder (usually the right rear).
• Attach a clear hose to the bleeder valve and submerge the other end in a container with brake fluid.
• Have an assistant pump the brake pedal several times and then hold it down.
• Open the bleeder valve to let air and fluid escape, then close it before the pedal is released.
• Repeat this process for all four wheels in the correct order: right rear, left rear, right front, left front.

4. Inspect and Replace Components

• If bleeding does not resolve the issue, inspect the master cylinder and brake booster.
• Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster by disconnecting the brake lines and unbolting it.
• Inspect for internal leaks and replace if necessary.
• If the brake booster is faulty, it will need to be replaced as well.
