Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Remove the Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Locate the engine cover fasteners and remove them using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Release Tension on the Serpentine Belt
  • Locate the serpentine belt tensioner, which is usually near the front of the engine.
  • Use a wrench or a ratchet with the appropriate socket to rotate the tensioner counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt.
  • While holding the tensioner, slip the serpentine belt off one of the pulleys.
4. Remove the Old Serpentine Belt
  • Carefully release the tensioner back to its resting position.
  • Remove the serpentine belt completely from all pulleys and dispose of it properly.
5. Install the New Serpentine Belt
  • Refer to the belt routing diagram (usually found on a sticker in the engine bay) to ensure correct installation.
  • Start threading the new serpentine belt around the pulleys, ensuring it fits properly in the grooves.
  • Hold the tensioner and slip the belt over the last pulley, then slowly release the tensioner to apply tension to the new belt.
6. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Position the engine cover back onto its mounts.
  • Secure it with the previously removed fasteners.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reattach the negative battery terminal and tighten it securely.
