Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface.
• Engage the parking brake and wear safety glasses.

2. Lift the Vehicle

• Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle.
• Secure the vehicle on jack stands.

3. Remove Wheels

• Using a socket set, remove the lug nuts and take off the front wheels.

4. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors

• Inspection:
  • Check rotors for warping using a dial indicator. If runout exceeds manufacturer specifications, they need replacement.
• Replacement:
  • Remove caliper bolts with a socket set.
  • Carefully slide the caliper off the rotor and support it (do not hang by the brake line).
  • Remove the rotor by taking off the retaining screws, if present.
  • Install the new rotor and torque the screws to manufacturer specifications.

5. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads

• Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.
• Inspect the caliper for leaks or damage.
• Apply brake grease to the back of the new pads and install them in the caliper bracket.

6. Reassemble Components
