Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Safety gear: gloves and safety glasses.
2. Check and Change CVT Fluid
  1. Locate the CVT Fluid Dipstick/Fill Plug:

    • Open the hood and locate the CVT dipstick or fill plug.
    • Remove the dipstick to check fluid level.
  2. Inspect Fluid Condition:

    • Wipe the dipstick clean and check the color and smell of the fluid.
    • If the fluid is dark or burnt, it needs to be changed.
  3. Drain Old Fluid:

    • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
    • Remove the drain plug and allow the old fluid to completely drain out.
    • Reinstall the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  4. Refill with New CVT Fluid:

    • Use Honda Genuine CVT Fluid (or equivalent) as specified in the owner’s manual.
    • Pour in the new CVT fluid through the dipstick tube or fill plug until the correct level is reached.
3. Inspect and Replace CVT Filter (if applicable)
  1. Remove the Transmission Pan:

    • Support the vehicle on jack stands and remove the bolts holding the transmission pan.
    • Carefully detach the pan and allow any remaining fluid to drain.
  2. Replace the Filter:

    • Locate the CVT filter and remove it according to the service manual instructions.
    • Install the new filter and ensure it is seated properly.
  3. Reinstall the Transmission Pan:

    • Clean the gasket surface on the transmission and the pan.
    • Install a new gasket and reattach the pan, torquing the bolts evenly to specifications.
4. Final Checks
  • Start the engine and allow it to warm up.
  • Check the fluid level again and add fluid as necessary.
  • Make sure there are no leaks from the drain plug or transmission pan.
