Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and securely raise it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel to access the strut assembly.

Tools Required:

  • Jack and jack stands
  • Socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Strut spring compressor
  • Screwdrivers
  • Pliers
2. Remove the Strut Assembly
  1. Loosen the wheel lug nuts before raising the vehicle.
  2. Raise the vehicle using a jack and support it with jack stands.
  3. Remove the wheel to expose the strut assembly.
  4. Disconnect the sway bar link from the strut using a socket wrench.
  5. Remove the lower strut mounting bolts using a socket set.
  6. Disconnect any brake lines or sensors attached to the strut.
  7. Remove the upper strut mount from the vehicle’s chassis by removing the nuts using a socket wrench.
3. Replace the Strut
  1. Use a strut spring compressor to safely compress the coil spring attached to the strut.
  2. Remove the top strut nut and detach the spring from the strut assembly.
  3. Install the new strut by reversing the removal process:
    • Place the spring onto the new strut.
    • Secure the top strut nut.
    • Ensure the strut is correctly seated in the upper mount.
  4. Reattach the strut assembly to the vehicle by following the steps in reverse order, ensuring all bolts and nuts are torqued to specification.
4. Reassembly
  1. Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  2. Lower the vehicle back to the ground and torque the lug nuts to proper specifications.
  3. Reconnect any brake lines or sensors that were disconnected.
  4. Perform a visual inspection to ensure everything is secured correctly.
