Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Check and Replace AC Relay
  1. Locate the AC relay in the fuse box.
  2. Remove the relay and inspect for damage or corrosion.
  3. If damaged, replace it with a new relay.
  4. Reinstall the relay into the fuse box.
3. Inspect and Replace Pressure Switch
  1. Locate the AC pressure switch on the AC line.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pressure switch.
  3. Use a wrench to remove the pressure switch from the AC line.
  4. Install the new pressure switch and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Repair or Replace AC Compressor Clutch
  1. Remove the serpentine belt from the AC compressor.
  2. Remove the four bolts securing the compressor clutch to the compressor.
  3. Carefully pull off the clutch assembly.
  4. Inspect the clutch coil for continuity using a multimeter; if faulty, replace the clutch coil.
  5. Reassemble the clutch onto the compressor and secure it with bolts to the specified torque (typically around 15-20 ft-lbs).
  6. Reinstall the serpentine belt.
5. Refill Refrigerant (if necessary)
  1. Connect the AC manifold gauge set to the low and high-pressure service ports.
  2. Vacuum the system to remove moisture and air.
  3. Recharge the AC system with the correct type and amount of refrigerant as specified by the manufacturer (usually R-134a, around 0.75-1.0 kg).
