Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, screwdriver set, replacement battery (CR2032 or equivalent).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe environment and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the key fob using a flathead screwdriver.
  2. Remove the old battery carefully, noting the orientation.
  3. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Snap the key fob back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  1. Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for about 1 second, then turn the ignition to "OFF."
  4. Repeat this process two more times, ending with the key in the "ON" position.
  5. Press the "Unlock" button again to finalize programming.
4. Check Keyless Entry Receiver
  1. Locate the keyless entry receiver, usually found under the dashboard or near the driver's side kick panel.
  2. Inspect the receiver for any visible signs of damage or disconnection.
  3. Check wiring harness connections for security and corrosion.
5. Inspect Fuses
  1. Locate the fuse box, usually found under the dashboard or in the engine compartment.
  2. Check the fuse related to the keyless entry system, typically labeled in the owner’s manual.
  3. Replace any blown fuses with the same amperage rating.
