Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, replacement headlight bulbs, cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical shock.
2. Inspect and Replace Headlight Bulbs
  • Remove the headlight assembly cover.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the bulb.
  • Twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
  • Inspect the bulb for any signs of damage; replace with a new bulb if necessary.
  • Reinstall the bulb by twisting it clockwise back into the socket.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness and secure the headlight assembly cover.
3. Check and Replace Headlight Relay
  • Locate the fuse box and identify the headlight relay.
  • Remove the relay and test it with a multimeter to check for continuity.
  • If defective, replace it with a new relay of the same rating.
  • Reinstall the relay in the fuse box.
4. Inspect Wiring and Battery
  • Visually inspect wiring harnesses for frayed wires or loose connections.
  • Clean battery terminals and ensure they are tight.
  • If corrosion is present, clean it with a wire brush and a mixture of baking soda and water.
5. Test Alternator Output
  • With the engine running, use a multimeter to check voltage at the battery (should be between 13.7V to 14.7V).
  • If the voltage is outside this range, the alternator may need to be replaced.
