Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • New CR2032 battery (or as specified for the model)
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit, clean workspace.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:
    • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob. Insert the screwdriver in the seam and twist to separate the halves.
  2. Remove Old Battery:
    • Carefully note the orientation of the old battery (positive side up) and remove it from the fob.
  3. Install New Battery:
    • Place the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:
    • Align the two halves of the fob and press firmly until they click back together.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine).
    • Press the lock button on the fob within 5 seconds.
  2. Confirm Programming:
    • Turn the key to OFF and remove it, then test the fob to see if it locks/unlocks the doors.
