Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and securely raised on jack stands.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues during the repair.
2. Remove the Old Struts/Shocks
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, strut spring compressor (if replacing struts), and a screwdriver.
  • Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel and remove the wheel.
  • Remove any covers or shields obstructing access to the struts/shocks.
  • Unscrew the top mounting bolts of the strut/shock while supporting it to prevent it from dropping suddenly.
  • Remove the bottom bolts securing the strut/shock to the vehicle.
  • Carefully extract the strut/shock from its mounting location.
3. Install New Struts/Shocks
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench.
  • If applicable, compress the spring on the new strut using the strut spring compressor and install the upper mount.
  • Position the new strut/shock into the mounting location and secure it with the bottom bolts.
  • Reattach the top mounting bolts and tighten to the manufacturer’s specified torque settings.
  • Reinstall the wheel and snug the lug nuts.
4. Final Checks
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground and torque the lug nuts to manufacturer specifications.
  • Reconnect any covers or shields that were removed.
  • Reconnect the battery.
