Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, and possibly a multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface with the ignition off.
2. Using an OBD-II Scanner
  1. Locate the OBD-II port under the dashboard near the driver's seat.
  2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the port.
  3. Turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  4. Follow the scanner’s instructions to access the trouble codes.
  5. Clear the codes using the scanner’s menu options. This will reset the check engine light.
3. Disconnecting the Battery (if necessary)
  1. Open the hood and locate the battery.
  2. Using a socket set, disconnect the negative terminal (black) first, followed by the positive terminal (red).
  3. Wait for at least 15 minutes to ensure the ECU resets.
  4. Reconnect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
  5. Close the hood and start the vehicle to check if the check engine light remains off.
