Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, CR2032 battery, and OBD-II scanner (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and in a secure area.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Remove the old CR2032 battery from the key fob.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Test Key Fob Functionality
  • Stand within 10-15 feet of the vehicle.
  • Press the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob to check if the vehicle responds.
  • If the vehicle responds, the battery replacement was successful.
4. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • If the key fob still does not work, follow these steps to reprogram:
    1. Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed.
    2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
    3. Press the "Lock" button on the key fob within 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition to "Off" and remove the key.
    5. Test the fob by pressing the lock/unlock buttons.
