Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small screwdriver, multimeter, replacement battery (CR2032), and OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and the key fob is within range of the vehicle.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Open the key fob using a small screwdriver to pry apart the two halves.
  • Remove the old battery and inspect the contacts for corrosion or dirt.
  • Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Snap the fob back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Press the lock button on the key fob within 5 seconds to trigger the programming mode.
  • Turn the ignition back off and remove the key.
  • Test the fob to see if it functions properly.
4. Inspect Door Lock Actuator
  • Remove the door panel on the affected door to access the lock actuator.
  • Visually inspect the actuator for damage or disconnection.
  • Test the actuator using a multimeter to ensure it receives power when the fob is pressed.
  • Replace the actuator if it does not function correctly.
