Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a well-ventilated area with the engine off.
  • Have the new key fob available for programming.
2. Battery Replacement (if needed)
  1. Open the key fob using a small flathead screwdriver.
  2. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side is facing up.
  3. Snap the key fob halves back together securely.
3. Reprogramming the Key Fob
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds. The vehicle’s locks will cycle to indicate programming mode.
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Press any button on the key fob within 10 seconds of entering programming mode. The locks will cycle again if successful.
    • Repeat the process for additional key fobs if needed.
  3. Exit Programming Mode:

    • Turn the ignition key to "ON" again to exit programming mode. The locks will cycle one last time to confirm exit.
4. Testing
  1. Test the key fob functions: attempt to lock/unlock the doors and start the engine.
  2. Verify that the dashboard no longer displays the "Key Not Detected" message.
