Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool
    • Clean cloth or vacuum (for cleaning the housing)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked on a level surface.
2. Locate the Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and remove all items.
  • Locate the two tabs on the sides of the glove compartment. Gently squeeze them inward to detach the glove compartment from the dashboard, allowing it to drop down.
3. Remove the Cabin Air Filter Cover
  • Once the glove compartment is lowered, locate the cabin air filter cover. It is typically at the back of the glove compartment area.
  • Use the flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool to carefully pry open the cover.
4. Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  • Remove the old cabin air filter by pulling it straight out of the housing.
  • Clean the filter housing with a clean cloth or vacuum to remove any debris.
  • Insert the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is in the correct orientation (check for arrows indicating airflow direction).
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  • Replace the cabin air filter cover by pressing it back into place until it clicks.
  • Lift the glove compartment back and align it with the dashboard. Press the sides to reattach it securely.
  • Put all items back into the glove compartment.
