Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the following tools: OBD-II scanner (if needed), flathead screwdriver (for battery replacement), and a new battery (CR2032 or as specified).
  • Ensure all vehicle doors are closed and the interior lights are off to prevent battery drain.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring the positive side is facing the correct direction.
  3. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  1. Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Turn the key to the "OFF" position and back to "ON" position two times within five seconds. Leave in the "ON" position on the third turn.
  4. The vehicle's locks should cycle indicating it is in programming mode.
  5. Press any button on the key fob within 10 seconds. The locks will cycle again to confirm programming.
  6. Repeat for any additional key fobs.
  7. Turn the key to the "OFF" position to exit programming mode.
4. Test the Key Fob
  • Step outside the vehicle and test the key fob by pressing the lock and unlock buttons to ensure it operates correctly.
