Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, multimeter, and OBD-II scanner (optional).
  • Ensure safety by working in a well-lit area and keeping the vehicle in park.
2. Verify Battery Installation
  • Open the key fob with a flathead screwdriver, taking care not to damage the casing.
  • Check the orientation of the new battery; it should fit snugly with the correct polarity (+/-).
  • Close the key fob securely after verifying the installation.
3. Test New Battery
  • Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the new battery; it should read approximately 3 volts.
  • If the voltage is low, replace the battery with a new one.
4. Re-sync Key Fob
  • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (not starting the engine).
  • Press the "LOCK" button on the key fob for one second, then turn the ignition off.
  • Repeat this process two more times, then turn the ignition back to "ON" and press the "LOCK" button again. This should re-establish communication between the fob and vehicle.
5. Scan for Error Codes
  • Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle's port and scan for any relevant codes.
  • Address any codes that are related to the keyless entry or immobilizer system as needed.
