Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools: a small flathead screwdriver, a new CR2032 battery, and a clean workspace.
  • Ensure that you are in a well-lit area to see small components clearly.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob along the seam, starting at one end and working your way around the fob.
  • Be careful not to damage the plastic casing or internal components.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Once the key fob is open, locate the battery compartment.
  • Carefully note the orientation of the existing battery (positive and negative sides).
  • Remove the old CR2032 battery by gently lifting it out with your fingers or the screwdriver.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Take the new CR2032 battery and insert it into the compartment, ensuring it matches the original orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Ensure the battery is seated firmly in place.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click securely.
  • Make sure there are no gaps along the seam, indicating a proper seal.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob to ensure it operates correctly.
  • Confirm that all functions are working, including any panic or trunk release buttons.
