1. Preparation

• Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, wrench set, battery terminal cleaner, and safety glasses.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.

2. Clean Battery Terminals

• Disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
• Use a battery terminal cleaner to remove any corrosion from the terminals and cable ends.
• Reattach the terminals, connecting the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal.

3. Replace the Battery (if necessary)

• If the battery voltage is below 12.4 volts, consider replacing it.
• Remove the battery hold-down bracket with a wrench and lift the battery out carefully.
• Install the new battery, ensuring correct polarity, and reattach the hold-down bracket.

4. Inspect and Replace the Alternator (if necessary)

• If the alternator output is low, remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner.
• Disconnect the wiring harness from the alternator and remove the mounting bolts.
