Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shock.
• Allow the engine to cool down before starting work.

2. Replace Spark Plug

• Tools Required: Spark plug socket, ratchet, torque wrench.
• Remove the ignition coil from cylinder 1:
  1. Unplug the electrical connector.
  2. Remove the bolt securing the ignition coil.
  3. Lift the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
• Remove the spark plug:
  1. Use a spark plug socket to unscrew the old spark plug.
  2. Inspect the old spark plug for signs of damage or fouling.
• Install a new spark plug:
  1. Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug (optional).
  2. Hand-tighten the spark plug into the cylinder head and then torque it to the manufacturer’s specification (usually around 13-15 lb-ft).
• Reinstall the ignition coil and reconnect the electrical connector.
