1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, and safety gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is safely parked on a level surface.
2. Using an OBD-II Scanner
  1. Locate the OBD-II port under the dashboard near the driver’s seat.
  2. Plug in the OBD-II scanner to the port.
  3. Turn the vehicle’s ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  4. Follow the scanner's prompts to access stored trouble codes.
  5. Erase the codes, which will reset the check engine light.
3. Battery Disconnection (Alternative Method)
  1. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition.
