Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Safety goggles, gloves, rags, brake fluid (recommended type), and a funnel.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off. Use gloves to protect your hands from brake fluid.
2. Refill Brake Fluid
  1. Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
  2. Clean the top of the reservoir with a rag to prevent contamination.
  3. Remove the reservoir cap carefully.
  4. Using a funnel, add the appropriate type of brake fluid (consult the owner's manual for specifications) until it reaches the maximum level.
  5. Replace the reservoir cap securely.
3. Inspect and Repair Leaks
  1. If leaks are found during diagnostics, identify the source (brake lines, calipers, master cylinder).
  2. For damaged brake lines, use a pipe cutter to remove the damaged section and install a new brake line using flared fittings.
  3. For leaking calipers, remove the caliper bolts, replace the seals or rebuild the caliper, and reattach.
  4. For a leaking master cylinder, remove the master cylinder from the brake booster, replace the seal kit or the master cylinder, and reinstall.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  1. Using a brake bleeder kit, attach the tubing to the bleeder valve on the furthest brake caliper (usually the passenger rear).
  2. Open the valve and have an assistant press the brake pedal several times until no air bubbles are visible in the fluid.
  3. Close the valve and repeat the process for the other calipers in the order: passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front.
  4. Ensure fluid levels are maintained during this process.
