Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before starting work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Use a socket wrench to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coil(s) covering the spark plugs.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors on each ignition coil by pressing the tab and pulling gently.
  • Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket wrench.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to carefully unscrew and remove each spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the old spark plugs for wear, carbon buildup, or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound on the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plugs into the cylinder head, then use a torque wrench to tighten to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13-15 lb-ft).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Place the ignition coils back over the new spark plugs and secure them with the bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil, ensuring they click into place.
7. Reattach Engine Cover
  • If the engine cover was removed, place it back on and secure it with the bolts.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
