my Honda Pilot YF4 (2023-Present) has a delayed transmission response, what’s wrong?

Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
• Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.

2. Transmission Fluid Inspection and Replacement

• Fluid Level Check:
  • Remove the transmission dipstick and check the fluid level. If low, top off with the recommended Honda ATF.
• Fluid Condition:
  • If the fluid is dark or has a burnt smell, proceed to replace it.
• Fluid Replacement:
  1. Remove the transmission drain plug using the appropriate socket.
  2. Allow the old fluid to drain completely into a suitable container.
  3. Replace the drain plug and torque to the manufacturer's specification (usually around 30 ft-lbs).
  4. Add new Honda ATF through the dipstick tube until it reaches the full mark.

3. TCM and TPS Inspection
