Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
• Wear safety gloves and goggles.

2. Check and Refill Power Steering Fluid

• Tools Required: Rags, funnel
• Inspect the power steering fluid reservoir.
• If low, use the appropriate type of power steering fluid (consult the owner's manual).
• Clean any spilled fluid around the reservoir.

3. Inspect Power Steering Pump

• Tools Required: Socket set, flashlight
• Locate the power steering pump (usually near the engine).
• Inspect for leaks or signs of wear.
• If the pump is damaged, proceed to replace it.

4. Replace Power Steering Pump (if necessary)

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, pully puller
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
• Remove the serpentine belt from the power steering pump.
• Unbolt the pump from its mount and disconnect the fluid lines.
• Install the new pump, ensuring all seals are properly in place.
• Reattach the serpentine belt and reconnect the battery terminal.

5. Bleed Power Steering System

• Tools Required: Rags, funnel
• Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid.
