1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: multimeter, battery tester, safety gloves, and safety goggles.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the engine is off.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles to protect from battery acid.
2. Visual Inspection
  • Open the hood and locate the battery.
  • Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion (white or greenish powder) and clean them if necessary using a wire brush.
  • Tighten any loose connections on the battery terminals.
3. Measure Battery Voltage
  • Set the multimeter to the DC voltage setting.
  • Connect the red probe to the positive (+) terminal and the black probe to the negative (-) terminal.
