Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the vehicle.
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, fuel pressure gauge, and safety glasses.
2. Replace Fuel Pump Relay (if faulty)
  1. Locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box (refer to the owner's manual for exact location).
  2. Remove the relay by pulling it straight out.
  3. Install the new relay by pushing it firmly back into place.
  4. Reconnect the battery and test the ignition.
3. Replace Fuel Pump (if defective)
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
  2. Disconnect the battery again for safety.
  3. Remove the fuel tank as per manufacturer procedures:
    • Drain the fuel tank (if necessary).
    • Disconnect the fuel filler neck and any electrical connectors.
    • Support the tank and remove the mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank:
    • Disconnect fuel lines and electrical connectors.
    • Remove the retaining ring and lift the pump assembly out.
  5. Install the new fuel pump:
    • Place the new pump into the assembly and secure with the retaining ring.
    • Reinstall the assembly back into the tank and reconnect fuel lines and connectors.
  6. Reinstall the tank and reconnect the battery.
