Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, wrench set, pry bar, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and securely lift the front end using a jack and jack stands.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles for protection.
2. Remove the Wheel
  1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel using a lug wrench.
  2. Lift the vehicle with a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  3. Completely remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Remove the Tie Rod End
  1. Locate the tie rod end connected to the steering knuckle.
  2. Use a wrench to remove the nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  3. Use a tie rod end puller or a hammer to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
  4. If applicable, remove the cotter pin and nut securing the inner tie rod end.
4. Inspect and Replace
  1. Check the old tie rod end for any signs of wear, such as torn boots or play.
  2. Compare the old tie rod end with the new part to ensure they match.
  3. Install the new tie rod end in reverse order of removal:
    • Insert the inner tie rod end (if applicable) and secure it with the nut.
    • Attach the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle and secure it with the nut.
    • If used, replace the cotter pin.
5. Reassemble
  1. Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  2. Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and onto the ground.
  3. Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
