Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx screwdriver set
    • Clean rags
    • Throttle body cleaner
    • Safety goggles
    • Gloves
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Unscrew any bolts or screws securing the engine cover using a Torx screwdriver.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Access Throttle Body
  • Locate the throttle body on the intake manifold.
  • Disconnect the air intake duct by loosening the clamps with a flathead screwdriver and gently pulling it away from the throttle body.
  • If necessary, disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the throttle body by pressing the release tab and pulling them out.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner directly onto a clean rag and wipe the internal surfaces of the throttle body, including the throttle plate and walls.
  • Use a soft brush if needed to scrub away stubborn carbon deposits without scratching the surface.
  • Ensure that the throttle plate can move freely and does not stick.
5. Reassemble Components
  • Reconnect any electrical connectors you previously removed.
  • Reattach the air intake duct, ensuring it is securely fastened with clamps.
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the screws or bolts removed earlier.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
