Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, multimeter, compression tester, and noid light.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is off and cool.
2. Spark Plug Replacement
  • Remove Engine Cover: If applicable, use a socket set to remove bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Disconnect Ignition Coil: Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition coil on cylinder 2.
  • Remove Ignition Coil: Use a socket to remove the bolt(s) holding the ignition coil in place and gently pull it out.
  • Remove Spark Plug: Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug from cylinder 2.
  • Install New Spark Plug: Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug. Install it and torque it to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 22 lb-ft).
  • Reinstall Ignition Coil: Reinsert the ignition coil and secure it with the bolt(s). Reconnect the electrical connector.
3. Fuel Injector Replacement (if necessary)
  • Remove Fuel Rail: Depressurize the fuel system, then remove the fuel rail bolts and gently lift the fuel rail to access the injectors.
  • Replace Injector: Remove the old injector from the rail, apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new injector, and install it into the rail.
  • Reinstall Fuel Rail: Reattach the fuel rail, ensuring all connections are secure.
4. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach the engine cover if it was removed.
  • Start the engine and check for any leaks or unusual sounds.
